About

After more than five years and over 200 weddings, I’m still completely drawn to capturing people in love.
From intimate elopements to multi-day celebrations, what interests me isn’t just how a wedding looks - it’s how it feels.

The build-up.

The nerves.

The instinctive hand squeeze.

The moment you realise you’re married.

Starting Woven Images was a natural choice. It brings together everything I love - connecting with people, storytelling through film, a bit of techy gear chat, and a strong appreciation for style and fashion.

At its core, it’s about creating films grounded in real emotion and genuine connection. A final product that reflects not just what the wedding looked like, but what it FELT like to be there.

Hi,  I'm Emily -

I was born, raised, and still live in Queenstown, New Zealand

On the wedding day, couples often tell me they felt comfortable, relaxed, and able to be themselves - something I value deeply.
My approach is grounded in observation, with gentle guidance where it helps. I might suggest a spot with beautiful light, then let you walk, talk, laugh, or take it in together. Sometimes it’s a soft prompt - a hand on a chest, a glance, pulling your husband in close - just enough structure to let something real happen.
I’ll never ask you to pretend. The connection is already there - my role is simply to create space for it to show.

A calm presence, quietly guiding when needed.

“We hardly noticed the camera, yet she captured every important detail.” - Ally and Blake

I’m always aware of the big moments -  but it’s the ones in between that stay with me.
The congratulations hugs straight after the ceremony.

Hands reaching for each other during vows.

Being held by the people who know you best.
These are the moments that shift a film from something constructed into something deeply real.

I love working with couples who care deeply about the experience of the day - who have an eye for style, love a good celebration, and are completely obsessed  in the person they’re marrying.

If a bold reception entrance feels just as right as a quiet sunset moment together, and you value presence over perfection, we’ll likely work very well together.

“She found the small, quiet in-between moments and turned them into something we’ll hold onto forever.”
- Ellie and Nick

The moments that matter most.

I see these films as heirlooms. Something you return to on anniversaries. Something your children or grandchildren might one day sit down and watch - to see who you were, who loved you, and how it all began.
It’s an honour to capture your story and turn it into something that lasts well beyond the day itself.

Your film will be entirely personal - never cookie-cutter, never cheesy.

Films made to last

“It is a special thing to have a film that we can watch when we’re grey and old, to bring back all the memories from the happiest times of our lives.”
- Jane and Gus

I take a thoughtful, hands-on approach to editing, so I don’t rush the process. I aim to have final films delivered around the three to four-month mark, though during peak season this can extend to up to five months depending on workload.
If you have a specific date in mind - or would love your film sooner - you’re welcome to ask about a Rush Edit when you enquire.

How Soon will I recieve my films?

I let the day be.
I take a documentary-led approach, with gentle guidance where it helps. I’ll quietly guide you toward good light or composition, then step back and let the moments unfold naturally. Nothing is repeated or forced  - the focus is on capturing the day as it really happened, so it feels honest, relaxed, and true to you.

What is your approach when filming?

Music is one of the most important elements of the final film. The right song can elevate a moment; the wrong one can change the entire feel.
I put a lot of care into music selection and would always encourage you to trust me with it. The more creative space I have, the stronger the final film becomes. I spend time trialling different tracks during the edit -  feeling into what works, what doesn’t, and what best supports the emotion of the day. That process of experimentation is where the magic really happens.

Who Chooses the music

Raw footage can sound appealing, but in practice it’s not a very usable or enjoyable product. It’s unedited, ungraded, and often incomplete - audio from camera microphones isn’t guaranteed, so you might have long clips with wind noise, gaps in sound, or moments that simply aren’t watchable on their own.
Instead of raw footage, I offer a Chapter Edit.
This includes all the usable footage from your day, thoughtfully organised into chapters so it’s easy to revisit and actually enjoy.
The Chapter Edit gives you full coverage of the day in a way that’s intentional, cohesive, and true to how it unfolded - without the overwhelm or frustration of raw files.

Do you deliver raw footage?

A wedding film lets you revisit your day in a way memory can’t.
Photos capture moments. Film captures how it felt - the voices, the movement, the emotion - and preserves them so you can return to them for years to come.

Why should we book a videographer?
